Summer is here, and if you call yourself Australian, that means you’ll spend at least some of it at the beach. It is - after all - one of the things our country is best known for. If you’re road tripping this year, here are some seaside spots worth a stop - all for different reasons.

Henley Beach
Henley Beach in Adelaide is gorgeous. Lined with bars and cute cafes, it’s not exactly remote - but those white sands are perfect for a stroll before a drink from one of the many places that stock wines from local regions like the Barossa, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale. For those of you wanting a taste of the night life as well as days taking cat naps in the sun, make sure to book a trip down here for a perfect summer escape.
Currumbin Beach
While many people tend to think of Surfers Paradise and Burleigh when they think of the Gold Coast, there are plenty of beaches further south which are equally as beautiful, but are also slightly less crowded. Gorgeous Currumbin Beach is perfect for swimming and lazing on the sand, and a quick scramble up Elephant Rock will provide stunning insta worthy views. There's not much natural shade at this beach, so make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen or something to keep you covered!

Collins Flat Beach
Just six minutes by car from the crowds of Manly’s main beach is the quieter, more secluded Collins Flat Beach - the perfect place for a romantic picnic. Swim in the calm waters while you enjoy the sound of the ‘beach waterfall’ - all just a stone's throw from Sydney center, this is your perfect weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Of course there are so many other spots to take a dip, snorkel or stroll in our gorgeous country. Get out and start exploring but always make sure you check for a patrol and keep yourself safe when cooling off this summer. Make sure to come prepared with plenty of sunscreen, water, and snacks for those hot summer days, and get ready for some well deserved relaxation!
