Do Avis have trackers in their cars?

Some rental cars from Avis may have devices that receive and send data. This information isn’t used to track the driver of the vehicle, but instead to provide services such as remote unlocking, software updates, or responding to accidents.

Make sure the renter and additional drivers carry their current valid drivers licence or international driving permit if they plan to hire private/commercial vehicles. Also, please note that most suppliers usually impose a certain minimum age in renting or they will ask you to pay a young driver surcharge.

Why does Avis require a deposit?

Avis will take a pre-authorisation from your credit/debit card. While it will reduce the amount available in your account, the money is only on hold, and has not left your account.
